Misty Jones (she/they) – is a multidisciplinary artist and advocate whose work spans acting, writing, generative art, and consulting on new plays and characters. A feminist and self-love advocate long before the terms were commonly popularized, Misty has consistently championed body positivity and authentic self-representation. Since May 2023, Misty has served as the first full-time staff member at Black Trans Femmes in the Arts Collective, navigating and supporting a significant staff transition with resilience and dedication.

Misty’s mission as a Black trans femme artist is to amplify the voices of those most marginalized and made invisible within the community, particularly dark-skinned Black trans women who endure colorism, fatphobia, and the pressures of unattainable beauty standards. Through her work, she confronts the rampant discrimination that alienates trans femmes who do not conform to societal expectations of thinness, lightness, or passing privilege. Misty advocates for a world where all trans femmes are empowered to claim space and be celebrated for their full selves.
